These terms govern how you may use the Collie Rescue of Greater Illinois website and services.

Donations and payments made through this site are processed by trusted third-party processors. By submitting a payment, you authorize CRGI and its processors to charge the selected payment method. Except where required by law, contributions are non-refundable.

Since 1994, Collie Rescue of Greater Illinois has been dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming collies throughout Illinois and neighboring states. We've helped thousands of collies find their forever families.

Our Story

Collie Rescue of Greater Illinois has reimagined thousands of futures by connecting collies in need with compassionate adopters, fosters, and supporters. What started as a small group of collie enthusiasts in 1994 has grown into one of the Midwest's most trusted collie rescue organizations.

We partner with shelters, owners, and caring supporters to offer collies a second chance. Each dog receives individualized attention—from medical care and grooming to behavior support—before we thoughtfully match them with their forever families.

Comprehensive Care

Every rescued collie receives:

  • Spay or neuter surgery
  • DA2PP & rabies vaccines
  • Heartworm test with preventative care
  • Microchip for lifetime identification
  • Comprehensive wellness exam and diagnostics
  • Dental cleaning when needed
  • Professional grooming and behavioral assessment
  • Placement in a nurturing foster home

After medical care, each collie spends a minimum of two weeks with a foster family. This time allows us to understand temperament, routines, and preferences so we can place every dog with a home that fits.

Serving the Midwest

We support families throughout Illinois and neighboring states by building connections and providing guidance. Families interested in adoption are interviewed by dedicated volunteers. We learn about your lifestyle, experience with dogs, and what you hope to find in a companion. Our team then pairs you with a collie whose personality and needs align with your home.

Our Mission

We partner with shelters, owners, and caring supporters to offer collies a second chance. Each dog receives individualized attention - from medical care and grooming to behavior support - before we thoughtfully match them with their forever families.

100% Volunteer-Powered

CRGI has no paid staff. Every dollar donated goes directly to helping our collies. Our dedicated volunteers handle everything from transports and fostering to administration and events.

Adoption Fees

  • $375 - Adult collies (1-7 years)
  • $475 - Puppies (under 1 year)
  • $175 - Seniors (8 years and older)

Adoption fees help cover the cost of veterinary care, which averages $600-1000 per dog.
